WAQWAQ FRESH
About
What is a WAQWAQ melon?
It is characterised by its bright orange flesh, mild aroma and high sugar content. It is also one of the most expensive fruits in Japan, fetching a high price at the first auction each year in recent years, and is considered to be different from melons produced in other regions.
Production of WAQWAQ melons begins with sowing in January and harvesting from May to September.
The peak season is from late June to early August. Growers carry out strict quality control and only melons that meet standards for sugar content and appearance are shipped as Yubari melons.
