WATANABE TOWELS
A piece that softens today.
It is the things we use every day and every time that have the power to make
have the power to make everyday life a little better.
This is what we believe.
Watanabe Pile's craftsmanship begins by imagining the lives of the people who use our products,
We start by imagining the lives of the people who use our products.
Our textiles, including towels
Our textiles, including towels, have a lot of invisible ingenuity.
We want to make everyday life softer and more comfortable.
Today we are still weaving.
OUR STORY
Weaving people's joy
What we value most. We weave towels with people in mind. In addition to pursuing towels that bring satisfaction to our customers, we value communication with everyone involved in Watanabe Pile Textile, including cotton growers, spinners, twisters and dyers, and aim to create towels that spin the joy of everyone.
Spinning unique towels
We want to create towels that have never existed before. The passionate craftsmanship inherited from the first generation lives on in every single step of the towel-making process. Not only do we weave, but we also visit the cotton growing areas and discuss the spinning process with the craftsmen to make the best use of the material.
Spinning from the bounty of nature
Water is an important factor in towel production, as it is used in large quantities. Even in Imabari, which has abundant water sources, the water from the Sosha River, which runs through the centre of the town, is soft and low in impurities, softening the yarn during the bleaching and dyeing process. The soft textures and shades of Watanabe Pile fabrics are spun not only by human skill, but also by the blessings of nature.
TRACING THE ROOTS
The story behind a single towel
The story behind a towel
Towels have many faces and many personalities. Some are light and soft, others heavy and reassuring. Each towel is accompanied by a label that tells the story of the different origins of the cotton and the characteristics of the towel. Please look and feel the texture.
