Product Description

<The world of Kutaniyaki with a history of approximately 360 years.

Kutaniyaki is characterised by a colouring technique in which lines are drawn in an indigo blue colour known as gosu and painted with a thick layer of paint in five colours known as gosai (red, yellow, green, purple and dark blue).

The patterns are boldly over-painted, giving a powerful impression.

This product is recommended for both daily use and as a gift.

Please enjoy the depth of Kutaniyaki colours and the texture of the thick overglaze painting.

Kutaniyaki - a traditional craft to be enjoyed in everyday life.

Good for use and good as a gift.

World-class Japan Kutani

Kutani ware has a history of 360 years. The Koya style of painting, which is said to have originated in the early Edo period, is still popular today, and during the Meiji period, gorgeous Kutani ware such as the Shozo style was exported and was highly regarded overseas as Japan Kutani.

And now. Kutaniyaki has evolved into a traditional Japanese craft that can be used in everyday life, and is loved not only in Japan but also all over the world. The appeal of Kutaniyaki is the variety of expression. There are various techniques and styles, including Gosai-te (five-colour technique) using Kutani Gosai (green, yellow, purple, dark blue and red), Akae Hosoge, Sai-glaze, Underglaze Gold, and many others. Each piece has its own beauty, such as the massiveness and transparency of Japanese paints, the gloss of the glaze and the precision of the overglaze painting.

The variety of styles is such that there are as many styles as there are artists and potters. Kutaniyaki is a traditional craft that is a pleasure to select, a pleasure to give and a pleasure to use. We hope you will use it for many years to come.
